I think the stockade raises your defense a bit. The flame arrows raise offense. When you attack you will do a bit more damage.

Ah.
Right now it's rather boring. I don't have enough money to train any of my untrained soldiers, let alone equip them. Maybe I'll stop for a day until my gold builds up.

Good question. Well I do tend to run out of money often and I have around like 40 or so untrained. What I do is look for someone to attack. I look for someone that has a lot of money in their treasury and an amount of soldiers less then mine. If they have camp or stockade as a fortification I will try and attack and if I get a good amount of money the first time then I attack them the max of 5 times in a row. After that I go and train soldiers to either attack or defense. Also each day I try and buy a few offensive weapons or defensive weapons. I have also started to buy spy and sentry tools.

So I have to spy on them first, so I know the size of their treasury?
Darn. It'll take a while to get some spies, then.

Heh. It worked!
I have some good targets lined up...

Well you dont have to spy on them. I've spied like only 10 times so far and got caught 9 times. It only worked like once. I think the more spies you have and the more spy tools you have the better chances of success. I think the newbies it doesnt show their treasury since they are new. For people that have been on for a few weeks or so you will see the treasury listed for anyone when you click the attack button and see the list of everyones names.

Wait, are you and LB humans? That would explain why you seem to be rolling in money.
Right now I'm just trying to slowly build up my defense.
EDIT: Would it be a decent plan to constantly build up my troops and weapons slowly by spending money whenever I have 5,000 or so, I should I save up for 10 troops a day/flaming arrows?
I don't want to get robbed of all my cash if I save it all up.
EDIT: Well, I've spent it all now, on some nice warblades. Anyone want to steal my 156 gold.

No, I'm dwarves. Kid's humans. And my income is useless anyway. I attack people for all my money. And I do mean ALL of it.
Here's what you do. First, save up a few turns (20 is great). Then, you look for people around your rank with a LOT of money. Then, you attack them with 1 turn. If they beat you, move on. If they don't, peg them with 15 turns (max per attack). Using this method (and 52 turns), I got over 1,000,000 gold today. I suggest you all use the same method. There are lots of weak people with TONS of money out there. Note: In order to see how much money people have, you have to have a higher spy rating than they have sentry rating. Both of mine suck right now, but I'm pretty buff, so it's all good.
Also, the number of troops you have is fairly irrelevant. I currently have an attack force of less than 20, and I routinely attack (and steal from) people with over 200 units. It's all about the weapons you got. Get some good ones. The 640 ones will work up until around rank 88,000 or so, the 2560 ones to around rank 85,000, and Blackpowder Missles from there on up. Also, you might want to get some good defence weapons, like Dragonskins or Invisibility Shields.
EDIT: What sort of rankings do you guys have? I'll post mine after.

Heh, didn't want to intimidate you guys or something.
By the way, I doubled my spy rating since yesterday, so I'm happy.
And don't worry DB, next time I won't get caught.

There's nothing to really spy on.
Stockade, a bit of gold, 40ish Orcs, 10 guys/day, decent weapons.
...Just don't try and sabotage my stuff. Or a will have vengeance!

I got another upgrade today. I paid like 156,000 something like that to get 20 soldiers a day. It was a bit of money but hey getting 20 soldiers a day will really help bolster my army. The next upgrade is 40 soldiers a day but that costs over 500,000! Thats gonna take some time even for me. A week maybe. Thats if I don't spend any money and if noone attacks me and steals money.

Ah well, up to stockade, flaming arrows, a couple of wargs, better spies and more guys.
For some reason 1 guy had 0 Orcs, yet had hundreds of thousands in gold. That I stole. Very nice.

I've seen several people like that. No army to defend themself, hundreds of thousands of gold. I have no fear of taking damage or dying so I just do a bunch of attacks and transfer their useless gold to my acount which needs gold.

Stupid people.
97,000 in 15 turns! How sweet is that?

Ummmm... Not very. Try to get at least 400,000 in 15 attacks. It can be done at your current rank, so don't try to tell me otherwise (I did it, I ought to know). Now, kid, right now my next Covert Level upgrades costs over 1.5 million gold. The one before it costed 10,000 more than a Blackpowder Missle. 500,000 doesn't seem to be that much any more.
Oh, and DB, I mean it when I say that I wouldn't get caught. I have level 7 covert. So, every one of my spies and sentries are worth 2 to the power of 7 (or 128) instead of just one. Not only that, but I have 5 Grapling hooks. So, with 5 spies, I have a rating of 1,920. Each.
Oh, and I appologize if I sound like I'm talking down to you guys. I feel like I am too, and it's not a happy feeling. Again, sorry.
