Now, once some movies get nominated, we can start the knockout pahse. Now, because we won't get hundreds of users posting here, I decided to turn this into a rating competition; you rate each movie as a percentage (100% being the best), and I'll average the scores out.
Whichever movies in the genres get the best and worst average ratings will be the winner of the kidgame2001 oscars.
Please note that the kidgame oscars have nothing to do with the real life ones. We would not dirty kid's name by affiliating with such a blatantly rigged contest. Please also note that DB, the amazing, wonderful, studious, stoic and honourable poster cannot be held responsible for using kidgame's name in this topic, nor rigging this contest if he wishes. You are accountable for flaming, insulting, or otherwise not worshiping the ground DB walks upon, and will be sued to the fullest extend of the law.
And flaws, spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, total disregard for logic or overuse of the word "amazing" when speaking of the amazing, Da "amazing" Bomb are totally Commando's fault, not mine.

I forgot about somoe of those films, especially 28 days later. Gotta love that movie. As for SW, I agree totally. Crappy movie.
The last Samurai; that's an interesting pick. It's a good movie, and I should have thought of that one too.

By the way DB, this is America. Here, I can sue you because I don't like the color of your eyes, or because you were born, or because you are not me. America is the greatest!!!

That's such a *****.
Mother: I threw my baby off a bridge to try and kill it.
Keeper: I know. We saw on our security cameras.
Mother: I didn't serve a prison sentence, fortunately. Now I want to sue you, the keeper of that bridge, because I didn't kill my baby!
Keeper: Isn't that unreasonable?
Mother: No! You ****er! I wanted my own baby dead! And you screwed it up! I hate you all! Now I'm suing you for everything.
That's a true story.

I've seen The Clone Wars. Special Report: Mission to Mars is worse. Much, much worse. It was about a TV station in the futer filming the first maned mission to Mars. It was badly writen and badly done. The ending was not at all explained. It was stupid, in such a way as to be funny, had it been deliberate. And the scientific base of the whole movie wasn't done well. Most of these you could also say for The Clone Wars. But I guess you guys haven't seen Special Report: Mission to Mars.
Lucky *****.

Unfortunately, we have draws, so we have to start rating our own entries for the fields that have draws. Yes, I should have set this up beter. Sue me.
Worst Movie Ever
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.
After the holocaust that was the original, I'm not sure how I could tolerate the sequel. Ah, right, I was forced to watch it on a plane. That explains a lot.
But somehow, the director and producers managed to not only continue the series - a crime in itself - but destroy it. The action sequences are totally unrealistic in almost every possible way, the storyline is predictable and not at all interesting, the acting sub-par, the crime-solving a total sham, and everything else a total mess.
One example: the angels managed to get inside a small area in the dock by having a plaster statue placed around them. Somehow, the managed to breathe inside this statue, but also are able to avoid the guard patrols, and find their flashy clothes inside the facility. This doesn't make sense.
Overall, I can't stand it. 22%
Best Action Movie Ever
Terminator 2
I find it very painful to have to wait 10 years or so to have a continuation of such a great series. Following on from the original, which was loosely based on the story of Jesus Christ, we have the action packed follow-up, where Arnold is now the good guy.
I could go on for hours about why I set this film above all others, but I'll summarize it into a brief paragraph: the action rules, the special effects are brilliant, the story is good and the entire situation gripping.
Overall, this is the king of kings. 94%
Best Sci-Fi movie
Aliens
Though Aliens is more of a horror/action, I simply couldn't deny The Ring a place as a nominee. The continuation the the praised Alien makes no mistakes, and only builds upon the strong foundation of the original. Here, we have Ellen Ripley once again battling the infamous xenomorphs after years of floating about in space. I won't ruin it for you, but we learn more about Ripley's past, and more about the "Company's" will to breed these aliens.
The mood switches between blood-rushing fun to tense moments of suspense, all wrapped up in a highly enjoyable package. It was just a pity the brilliance of Aliens couldn't be replicated for the other continuations. 90%
Best Horror Ever
The Ring
It was a close call between this and John Carpenter's "The Thing", but I found the overall atmosophere to be that little bit more creepy in this. Though I have never been scared by a film (save for Alice Through the Looking Glass when I was 4), "The Ring" does inspire a tense atmosphere while the protagonist searches for the overall meaning of the Ring within 7 days.
86%
Best Comedy Ever
Airplane!
The many movies that tried to copy this goofy, hilarious flick never included such idiocy that I found it funny. Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs and The Naked Gun all tried to replicate the wonders of this film, but failed quite miserably.
The scene sets up as a love story, but progresses into a humour fest with flashbacks, sight jokes and a collection of some of the best comedic moments I have seen. Bravo.

Kill Bill was so bad, I cried like a decapitated baby when it was over.
Airplane was so funny, I laughed as hard as the person who had just decapitated the baby.
Ok, bad joke.
