According to gamespot.com, there are 2 "versions" of the XBox 360. The first is a core version as its called. It is cheaper and will be $299 USD. It won't come with lots of stuff though. A normal wired controller, the wires to hook up the system. Oh, and no backwards compatability. Oh yeah and an XBox live silver membership. Whatever that is.
For $399 USD, you can get the regular XBox 360. This comes with more stuff. A wireless controller, wires to hook up the system, backwards compatability (weird, you have to pay more to have backward compatability), a 20 gig detachable hard drive (most likely for storing game data, music and more. This one also comes with an Xbox live silver membership.
Anyways, here is a list of what you get with each one. Wheter you pay $299 for a cheaper system with barely any features. Or if you pay an extra hundred for a total of $399 (plus tax) to get a system with tons of features and stuff.
Xbox 360 Core System - $299 (299 Euros, 209 GBP) •Xbox 360 console •Wired controller •Detachable faceplate •Xbox Live Silver membership •Standard AV cables
Xbox 360 - $399 (399 Euros, 279 GBP) •Xbox 360 console •20GB detachable hard drive •Wireless controller •Wireless Xbox Live headset •High-definition AV cables •Ethernet cable •Xbox 360 Media Remote Control (limited time) •Detachable faceplate •Xbox Live Silver membership
As you can see, if you can afford it, buying the regular XBox 360 is better since it comes with a lot more stuff.

But the G5 processors are striped! I can't take them and use them to build a computer! That's the whole reason I wanted a 360 in the first place!
Oh well. I'll probably end up setting it up with Jrd where I buy either the PS3 or Revolution, and we split the cost of the 360. Or, I might end up buying the PS3 and Revolution, and he the 360, if Nintendo's new system is as cheap as it's rumored it might be (As low as $70! Holy shit!). Or, more likely, we'll both end up with Revolutions, they being cheap, and we'll split the costs of both the PS3 and 360. That'd work. I'll run it by him today.

Revolutions for $70. Not going to happen and nintendo is nuts if they do that. I wouldn't want a revolution I mean the controller is almost like a friggen TV REMOTE CONTROL. Are you watching tv or playing games? Is it a game controller or a fancy tv remote?

That is if you buy the $400 system.
The $300 XB 360 doesn't glitch that much, trust me my friend got it and got a hard drive and two wireless controllers and he has no problem.

Actualy, I've never seen the $400 version glitch either. But I've only ever seen it playing Quake 2 or Halo 2, so my reasoning my be a little flawed.
