Do you think the Russian Revolution was a good thing to happen in history? When Russia became communist it gave the West a whole lot of trouble and probably started, or at least helped start, a bunch of small wars and conflicts. But it did help the allies a lot in WWII.
If the Russian revolution has failed though, and Russia remained a country led by the Czar, would the world be better off? There would probably be no cold war but the allies may have lost WWII.
I've never really thought about this...

It depends of the Czar. Nicholas II was the Czar in early 1900, if I remember correctly, and he was an inept military commander and a poor leader. Obviously, you wouldn't want someone like him as the new Czar.
Autocracy isn't a good thing, really, but neither is communism. I guess the Cold war caused a lot of problems, but it also helped space exploration and forced the creation of NATO.
So I really can't say.

True, although the Cold War wasn't a very good thing, it did stimulate our economy a good bit. And, the Revolution, although it may have been bad for the Russian people, has caused a lot of good things to happen thoughout the world. I say yay, but not by much. More, it is that I cannot even imagine a world without it.
