One of my favorite racing games, Initial D, is coming out for the PSP. I love playing initial D arcade stage. Never played the first one, played the second a few times and I've played the 3rd one over a hundred times. Unfortunatly from what gamespot said about the game, its going to be a japanese game. Darn it! Luckily though PSPs are region free so I'll have to look into importing the game when it comes out. I believe it was listed as a fall release so by the end of the year it'll be out and who knows? I may be playing Initial D on my PSP.

Sounds good. Arcade racers are always great handheld material.
It sucks that you'll have to import it, though.

Well maybe. Maybe not. Only one initial D game was published for home systems in america. Initial D Mountain Vengeance and it sucked. I think it was out in 2004. For a new game then, it had terrible graphics, poor music the kind that tokyopop did to americanize the game. They couldnt use the eurobeat stuff that made the arcade games great. Controls are pretty bad. You have to use the keyboard and pressing left or right barely does anything. If you want to turn you pretty much have to press another button to drift. However this usually causes you to spin out and lose control. It only has a few people from the tv series/anime/manga. Also the game crashed a few times on my new comp which has brand new stuff in it a great graphics card and the game crashed like half way through a race.
There is an Initial D game for lets see.....Game Boy Advance, Playstation, Playstation 2. However they are all japanese games so I need to either get a japanese system (I may do that eventually, lots of japanese games I want to import) or buy swap magic disks or use a gameshark or something but then i wouldnt be able to save games. Probably better off buying a japanese ps2 and the initial D games. Of course the game is like $60 new for the regular edition from most sites. The "Playstation 2 The best" version is around $35 so not too bad I guess. Theres also an Initial D game for Sega Saturn which I only found about about just recently. It's not listed on gamefaqs or anything. I saw it listed several times on EBay going for like $100 and up. It must be quite rare because it is an import like most initial d games.
Anyways I heard rumors that the initial D game for PSP MIGHT come to america. Though I would seriously doubt that since none of the others have aside from the arcade machines. I'm better off trying and importing it since the PSP is region free and can play imports without modifications or special equipment.
I would get one of the arcade machines (Version 1, version 2, version 3,) doesnt matter though preferably version 3 since it has the most amount of cars, tracks and opponents. However, I've searched the internet and most sites only have the double machine- 2 machines linked up and that is anywheres from $14,000 to $20,000 and up. I could get a decent new or used car for that price. If I had the money Id get an arcade machine, i could save up for one, if I won the lottery (not going to happen) Id definitely look into buying one.

I now have Initial D Street Stage for my PSP. I ordered it from www.play-asia.com .It was the japanese version but at least Japanese PSP games work on American PSP systems. Though I cant read japanese, I now at least know what everything on the main menu means. Sure I cant understand what the characters say in the story but at least the game is fun to play.
