The sixth installment of the mario party games is going to be released this fall. I think in either october or november. I think there has been a mario party game released once every year now. They are pretty fun but the fifth one kinda sucked. Hopefully the series gets better with the 6th mario party game. I dont know what kind of boards or levels or minigames there will be but there should be a bunch of minigames and probably like 8 or so boards. Maybe more then 10 who knows? Im guessing the same characters from mario party 5 will be in this game. I hope there are some new characters though. I'd also like to see a better more improved story mode.

that's terrible news, in my opinion - Nintendo should spend 2 years per "Mario Party" game. Therefore, they can add more well-developed mini-games and make an overall higher-quality title. The "Party" franchise is one of the main reasons that Mario's reputation has felt so exploited.

I kinda like the mario party games. When they first came out on nintendo 64 they were pretty good and there were a lot of boards and minigames and it was pretty fun. Besides goldeneye and perfect dark and all those other popular games I spent a good deal of time playing the 3 different n64 mario party games mostly to unlock everything. I've got everything in the first one i think but the second and third ones I have like half the stuff i think. Although I have mario party 4 and 5 for gamecube I can safely admit that the nintendo 64 ones are better. I had a lot more fun playing the N64 MP's then I did with the 'cube MP games. The gamecube mario parties had a lot less boards and maps to play on and I think there are slightly less minigames as well. The story mode in MP4 and MP5 are fair at best, but they could have been better and a bit more fun. I got pretty bored with the gamecube mario party games so I havent really played in a while. I've been playing my other cube games more often although eventually ill get around to more mp4 & 5 gameplay.
As for Mario party 6, I hope its not bad like the fourth and fifth ones were. I'll probably buy the game anyways but I hope the story mode has improved as the story in the other two sucked totally and the minigames werent that good and were a bit too easy. I just hope mario party 6 has more boards and a lot more minigames and then maybe it will be a little interesting. And if nintendo does start making online games which they should do, mario party should go online as it might be a popular online game if done properly.

They should spend ALOT more time developing the MP games. As kid said, 4 & 5 suck. If they just spent more time developing the games, they could be 10-20 times better. Actualy, they should add another 2 years to the development of 6. The online capabilites of the game MUST be explored.

Yeah I agree. Online mode is a must! The games might be a little better that way! And 2-3 years between each game would almost certainly make for better games especially in the mario party series.

Not only that, but the wait would also make the sales go up when the game actualy gets released. If the consumers have to wait, they will get bored of the older versions, and only want the new one.

Yeah that is true. I have some new info on this game. According to several articles in a few video game magazines, this game will come bundled with a "Microphone" peripheral. The microphone is necessary in order to play the game. You still use the controller to play most of the minigames and to roll the dice and all that other stuff. Certain minigames though require the microphone to be used so thats why it comes bundled with the game and not as a seperate item. Hopefully though this doesn't increase the price of the game. I hope the price of the game either stays the same as the previous titles or maybe drops down. I don't think the microphone peripheral should increase the price of a mario party game.
Off topic- For light gun console games including a lightgun with the game would increase the value. It gives the game an arcade feel and thus increases the value of the game. Think of Time Crisis 3 for Playstation 2. Two versions were released of it. One came with the game and light gun for $59.99. The other version was simply the game only and was the regular $49.99. So for light gun shooters if you include the gun with the game then the extra $10 is worth it. But for mario party the game should be around $39.99 to $49.99. I seriously don't think the microphone would give Mario party 6 all this extra value making it worth a $60 purchase.

It would be cool if you could use an eyetoy with it, but you can't with Nintendo.

Maybe we should compile all of our suggestion and e-mail them to Nintendo.
