Yes, this has been brought over to here!
We will start the adventure again, anyone who posted in the BA topic, so everyone will have a chance. This version will have a little more variety, hopefully, too.
The game is simple. I give you places to go and several possible courses of action, and you choose one.
Characters There are several characters at this point. You can find more along the way; they are NPCs, and will act in their own interests.
Name: Gareth Saunders Age: 21 Occupation: Pizza delivery man Starting weapon: Pizza cutter, a small and ineffective weapon Starting Items: A tank of gas from his broken delivery bike Strengths: Agile Weaknesses: Lacks strength, poor starting weapon Personality: Desperate for any help
Name: Zack Morgan Age: 26 Occupation: Army Sergeant Starting weapon: M16 machine gun, Uzi Starting Items: First Aid spray (+50 health), radio Strengths: Powerful weapons, strong Weaknesses: Little ammunition, slow Personality: Paranoid of almost anyone. May shoot you on sight
Name: Virginia Ackert Age: 19 Occupation: Barmaid Starting weapon: Pool cue Starting Items: Bar keys, giving you access to the pub Strengths: Small, agile, quick-thinking Weaknesses: Lacks strength Personality: Will take each situation as it comes. She doesn't let fear get in her way, and is very intelligent
Name: Trevor Diano Age: 41 Occupation: Plumber Starting Weapon: Lead pipe Starting Items: Tools, small truck Strengths: His tools will help break into areas and solve puzzles, keeps his emotions in check Weaknesses: Poor weapon, slow on his feet Personality: Will only help you if you help him
Name: Anna Morgenstern Age: 32 Occupation: Nurse Starting Weapon: None Starting Items: First Aid Spray x2 (+50 health), green herb (+20 health) Strengths: Extensive medical knowledge Weaknesses: No weapons Personality: Easily scared and very unpredictable. May refuse to take a life.
---
Name:Gregg Black Age: 45 Occupation: Weapon Store owner/manager Starting Weapon: Tactical Shotgun (18/18) Starting Items: Ammunition stocks for all weapons Strengths: Good weapon, strong, free ammo Weaknesses: Unpredictable, takes risks Personality: Untrusting and unstable Date Found: Sept 8 Notes: Located by Kidgame. When away from his weapon store, he can supply 1 box/clip/magazine to any weapon in your inventory.
Name: Bradley Beckford Age: 40 Occupation: Mall guard Starting Weapon: Glock 18C (17/17) Starting Items: Handcuffs Strengths: Decent starting weapon, knows the mall well Weaknesses: Poor item Personality: Likes to take charge of the situation, sometimes uncooperative Date Found: September 30 Notes: Located by SeriousSam. Was too afraid to try and escape the mall, as there were zombies near the entrance, hates looters. Location: The mall
Other possible characters to find: Fireman, RPG officer, lab technician, hunter...
Starting Areas You can start in the following areas:
Boatyard: Beside the harbour, the boatyard has many weapons you can use (harpoon guns, fishing nets, knives) but has been infested with aquatic mutants. There are rumors of a small Umbrella ship here, that was being used to deploy soldiers. You'll find Zack here.
Seaworld: Next to the boatyard is seaworld, where the various animals have been mutated. You'll find zombie alligators, fish, leeches and other aquatic life here. The rooms have been flooded with water, and the only weapon is a tranquilizer gun in the supply room.
Forest: This area is North of the helipad, and is densely populated by small zombie creatures. The only weapons here are logs, flaming sticks or fire pokers. There area is desolate, dark and without any human life.
Shopping mall: The area has a handy weapon store, but most of the customers have been turned into zombies. You'll find Gareth here.
The Pearl Bar: It is more of a casino than a bar, and so it is surprisingly large. You'll find Virginia here, as well as light pistols, pool cues and other weapons. It is located at the west wing of the shopping mall.
Uptown Streets: Not too far from the helipad, but home to many mutated townspeople. There may be useful items in the houses. You'll also find Trevor here.
Raccoon Hospital: You'll find Anna here, along with a plethora of medical supplies. It's just a pity you'll also find plenty of undead patients. It's quite far from the helipad, so you may need to find some transportation...
You are trying to get here:
Helipad: The army has a helicopter waiting for you here, as well as a squad of troops. Weapons are scattered throughout the area, but there are many zombies and hunters, and the area is difficult to find.
Once you do get to the helipad, you win. Everyone else in the topic who doesn't make it on the helicopter flight dies, and a new round starts. New is the health feature, where I will display the health of all playing characters.

Now, you have to buy items/space/weapons/ammo. It it a little complicated, but I'm trying to make this different from other arenas.
You have 37 points to spend on any of these. The number beside the name of each weapon is the amount of points you will need. Also beside each name is how rare the ammunition for this weapon is, so sniper rifle clips will be difficult to find, while 9mm ammo will be easy to find.
Weapons
9mm Handgun (6) (Common) - Takes up 1 space - 15 rounds per clip - Low damage, high accuracy and meduim firing speed
Western Custom Shotgun (9) (Medium) - Take up 2 space - 8 rounds per box - high to low damage, medium accuracy, slow firing speed
Tactical Shotgun (7) (Common) - Takes up 2 space - 6 rounds per box - High to low damage, medum accuracy, slow firing Taser (1) (Medium) - Takes up 1 space - 120 seconds of electricity - Poor damage, low range, only stuns enemy Sniper Rifle (8) (Rare) - Takes up 3 space - 5 rounds per clip - High damage, high accuracy, slow firing
SMG (7) (Medium) - Takes up 3 space - 20 rounds per clip - Medium damage/accuracy/firing
Uzi (6) (Rare) - Takes up 2 space - 20 rounds per clip - Medium damage, poor accuracy, high firing rate
Combat Knife (2) (Common) - Takes up 1 space - Unlimited ammo - Poor damage, low range
Flamethrower (6) (Rare) - Takes up 3 space - 200 seconds of fire - High damage/rate of fire, poor range
Acid Grenade (4)(Rare) - Takes up 2 space - 1 grenade only - High damage
Items
All ammunition takes up 2 space, and costs:
9mm Handgun clip (15 rounds, 1 point) Western Custom box (8 rounds, 2 points) Tactical Shotgun (6 rounds, 1 point) Taser battery (120 seconds, 1 point) Sniper Rifle clip (5 rounds, 3 points) SMG (20 rounds, 2 points) Uzi (20 rounds, 1 ponts) Combat Knife (N/A) Flamethrower (200 seconds of fire, 2 points) Acid Grenade (1 grenade, 3 points after buying the first)
Single Green Herb (+20 health, 1 space, 1 point) Double Green Herb (+40 health, 2 space, 1 point) First Aid Spray (+50 health, 2 space, 2 points) Small Battery (Powers small devices, 1 space, 3 points) Large battery (Powers larger devices, 2 space, 4 points) Lighter (5 minutes of flame, 1 space, 3 points) Lockpick (Can open some doors, 1 space, 4 points) Flashlight (2 space, 3 points) Adrenaline shot (NPCs will not be scared for 3 turns, 1 space, 2 points)
Space
Here you can buy items to give you more space. They themsleves don't take any space.
None - 2 space, 0 points Backpack - 8 space, 6 points Large Backpack - 10 space, 7 points Sack - 6 space, 5 points Shopping cart - 20 space, 11 points, you have to wheel it aound with you! Side Pack - 5 space, 4 points NEW: Shoulder Holder - 3 space, 2 points NEW: Golf Club Bag - 6 space, 5 points
Buy multiple ones to give you more space. For example, buying a sack and a shopping cart with give you 26 space. Also, there is a limit to how many of a single space item you can buy. For example, you only have 2 shoulders, so you can only have two shoulder holders. Extra items to increase space can be found in the adventure.
If this is a bit too complicated for a simply arena, tell me. I'm just trying to make it more interesting.
Gogo!

Naw, it's good. Keeps things more structured.
Let's see. First off, a Large Backpack. Leaving me with 18 points left, and 12 space. Next, I'll need a 9mm handgun. So I have 12 points left, and 10 space left. And two extra clips for it. 10 points, 6 space. An SMG, 7 points, 3 space. And ammo, 5 points, 1 space. A Comabat Knife, and I'll be some more space later, so a Side Pack. This leaves me with 0 points and 5 space. Not bad.
Starting equipment: 9mm Handgun - 2 extra clips SMG - 1 extra clip Combat knife Large Backpack Side Pack
Let's go. I'll be in the bar.
Ketsumi is sitting at the bar, making the usual small talk with the barmaids, but mostly watching the other regulars gamble. He smirks, knowing that half the machines are rigged. What else do you expect from a man like the barkeep? "Hey, Virginia! Could I get another one of those Bloodies?" "Sure, comming right up." Ketsumi sits, waiting for his drink. As Virginia comes back with his drink, Ketsumi smiles at her. As he takes his drink from her hand, she seems to stiffen. Ketsumi looks up, and sees her staring, wide-eyed, at the other customers in the bar. He turns, and sees that over half, no, almost all of the customers have fallen over dead. Ketsumi starts to curse, but as he does, those dead customers begin to move. He reaches for the pistol on his belt instinctively, as the first zombie attacks the nearest living person.

Good, good.
GREEN = High health YELLOW FINE = Slightly damaged YELLOW = Just over half health RED = Low health. Get help! BLUE = Dead.
LIFEBAKA/KETSUMI 9mm (45/45) SMG (40/40) Knife 11/15 space used.
Ketsumi had been perched atop a barstool when the customers had began to mutate. Only a handful had not changed into zombies or dropped down dead, but they were swiftly surrounded and eaten alive.
Since the zombies had only just mutated, they were very confused, so Ketsumi had a window of opportunity to escape. He felt someone tugging on his sleeve, and as he whirled around, he realised it had been Virginia.
She reccomended they escape through the casino, and through the fire escape, but there were multiple zombies in that area, plus it was a long way away. on the other hand, the bar entrance stood only metres away, though zombies lurked in that area, too.
Option 1: Follow her through the casino and escape through the fire exit.
Option 2: Escape through the main entrance, and ignore Virginia. There are less zombies here.
Option 3: Inspect the bar for something useful. If the zombies come near, you can hide in the cellar.

First up kid buys a Large backpack, giving him taking him down to 18 points and 12 space. 2nd, buys a 9mm handgun. 12 Points, 11 space. 3rd, buys an Uzi. 6 points, 9 space. 4th, 2 boxes of 9mm ammo. 4 points, 5 space 5th, 2 boxes of uzi ammo. 2 points, 1 space. 6th, a Combat knife. 0 point, 0 space.
That should be enough for now. A large backpack, 9mm Handgun, an Uzi, 2 boxes of handgun ammo, 2 boxes of uzi ammo and a combat knife. It should work for now.
Kid opts to start at the shopping mall.
Kid enjoyed shopping malls. Unfortunatly there was a recent outbreak and everyone had to get to a helipad. There were several ways to get there and whoever got there was safe. Anyone else would die. Kid decided to start looking for clues at the shopping mall. He drove up his ferrari and parked it. He then got his equipment and walked up to the mall entrance. He casually opened the door and walked inside. He knew the mall was a popular place and if everyone was turned into zombies then kid might have a lot of enemies to fight against. He knew there was a weapon store in the mall so he could just stroll in and take some weapons. He had no space left so he would have to find another backpack or a shopping cart to store more stuff in. Ignoring this though, he continued and walked straight ahead wondering what would happen first.

Note: If I supply an option along the lines of "attack the enemy", I'll leave it up to you which weapon you want to use.
KIDGAME 9mm handgun (45/45) Uzi (60/60) Combat knife
Kid entered the usually busy mall with all his items, and began searching the stores. All across the floor were carcasses, overturned signs and random items from the stores. Kid spotted several looters stealing from the mall shops.
One store had camping equipment, and so therefore may have extra storage items. The weapon store was a floor above, and a Radio Shack stood nearby, which could have phones or other equipment. As the mall was without power, Kid wasn't able to see inside the stores to check for zombies, nor to check what equipment was inside. Where would he go first?
Option 1: The camping store. More space is always good...though you think you see something moving inside a tent.
Option 2: Radio Shack. They have phones, plus they may have a useful GPS mapper. But there are several bodies just outside...
Option 3: Look for the weapon store.

Kid thought that going to the camping store would be a good first choice. They may have extra storage items which will help for later. Also, being a camping store they may also have a flashlight or two. Having a flashlight would make it easier to navigate. It was daylight but the only light came from the skylight windows. He squinted as he looked into the camping store. The coast looked clear and he saw no zombies so he casually walked into the store and began to look around for a flashlight and some storage space items.

UPDATE: You can now buy extra items, not just ammunition, now. Lifebaka and Kidgame also have 12 extra points to spend.
KIDGAME 9mm handgun (45/45) Uzi (60/60) Combat knife
Kid entered the store with his Uzi raised, though fortunately he met no resistance during the trip. The store was dark, so Kid elected to locate a flashlight first. He couldn't see properly, but a managed to pick off a single flashlight from the shelf and a singal flare, too, but he wasn't sure if the flashlight had a battery.
Before he could check, he heard rustling behind him. He whirled around, yet saw nothing.
Option 1: Don't waste this opportunity to get supplies. Keep looking in the camping store1!
Option 2: Get out quickly. And quietly, too. You don't want to attract attention.
Option 3: Begin hunting whatever may be nearby.

So I can go back and buy healing items and such now?
Hmm I have 12 more points now? I spend 6 points to buy a backpack. Thats 8 space left and 6 points. I'll take a first aid spray so thats 6 space and 4 points. Next, a green herb so thats 5 space and 3 points. Next, a flashlight so thats 3 space and 0 points.
I used all 12 extra points and have 3 space left. I'll save it and use it in case I find any items in the shopping mall. Now i know I found a flashlight but I just bought one. Just read on to see why.
Kid picked up a flashlight from the shelf. He did hear something behind but when he looked he saw nothing. He quickly tried the flashlight but it had no battery. In anger he threw it down the aisle and it let out a loud clanking noise. Luckily he just purchased a new flashlight from the DB item store so he had a flashlight. He took it out and turned it on. He saw nothing. Having a flashlight and extra storage space he decided there was nothing left to do in the camping store.
Kid takes OPTION 2. He quickly (but quietly) runs out of the store. Luckily nothing got him on the way. Since he was back out and was in the skylight he could see again. He turned off the flashlight to conserve the battery.
Kid decides to check out the radio shack next. A phone would be nice so would a GPS locator. He saw the radio shack and was about to enter when he noticed something. Earlier there were several bodies in the front of the store. Now there were none. Kid backed out of the store. He drew his 9mm handgun and became alert. Those bodies, the zombies, had to be around somewheres. Kid took out the flashlight again and turned it on. Standing outside of the entrance to radio shack he shined the light into the store trying to see if there were any zombies in there.

KIDGAME - 3 space 9mm handgun (45/45) Uzi (60/60) Combat knife First Aid Spray Flashlight Green
As Kid drew his 9mm, he heard screams on the next floor, where the weapon store would be located. He had plenty of options open to him, but not a lot of time to think it over. Act quickly!
Option 1: Take the elevator. It'll be the quickest way.
Option 2: Take the stairs, though that will take longer.
Option 3: Ignore the screams. He or she is probably dead by now, anyway. Carry on to Radio Shack
Option 4: This place is freaking you out. Run out the store quickly!

Kid desperately wanted to enter radio shack yet he felt an obligation to go check out the screams. After all he could return down to radio shack later anyways.
Kid ran to the nearest elevator and went up a level. It was time to investigate the screams and save whoever was screaming, that is if they were still alive.

Post by DaBomb on Sept 5, 2005 16:56:52 GMT -5
Kid arrived at the elevator, and bashed the button with his fist several times. The doors refused to budge. He hit it once again, and shouted "Open damn you!"
Then he remembered: the mall was still without power. The elevator system fortunately had a slot for providing emergency power, but Kid would need a large battery for that. And thanks to his verbal outburst, he had drawn attention to himself.
Did Radio Shack have a large enough battery? If so, Kid could find the source of the screams, though that would also mean going back in, though a monster could be inside. The stairs were still available, though Kid swore he heard moaning from that area. He could, of course, ignore it all, for the person up there would probably be dead by now anyway.
Option 1: Rush to radio shack and look for one of the larger batteries
Option 2: Take the stairs
Option 3: Call out to the person...though that could draw attention to yourself...

Kid was out in the open so he was in relative safety. He decided to try option 3. He began to yell out to see if the other person was still alive.
"Hello! Who was that person that screamed now? Are you still alive? Are you ok?" Kid yelled out and stood there expecting a responce.

Ah, the choose your own resident evil adventure topic again. Good one DB. Looks like I'm gonna have to join in again.
Hmmm 25 points?
First I want a sack and a golf club bag. 15 points, 14 space
First gimme one of those Flamethrowers. 9 points, 11 space. I want an Acid grenade. 5 points, 9 space. A can of flamethrower fuel, 3 points, 7 space. A combat knife. 1 point, 6 space. A single green herb. 0 points, 5 space
That should work for now. A flamethrower that hopefully will last a while. I mean someone does have to light those zombies on fire. The acid grenade will get me out of a sticky situation so will the combat knife but as a last resort. If I take damage I have the herb. I also have 5 space so if I find weapons along the way or items then I'll be fine.
Now where to start. You know what I think I'll go to the Uptown streets stage.
Batlemeister had to get to a helipad. He decided to go through the uptown streets in order to get there. There were lots of houses around so he could break in and take more items if he wanted too. Looking around the place looked pretty dead. Dead in the terms of no action going on. BM saw no signs of any zombies and the place looked quiet as if nothing had happened. He slowly walked down the streets which were pretty well lit thanks to the numerous street lights dotting the streets. Well it wasn't night time. It was more like dusk. It was 6 pm so it was still light but some street lights had come on early. No cars were driving down the roads and there weren't even any children out to play. He thought that it was odd but he continued walking down the road wondering how he would get to the helipad for evac.

Oh, you have 37, so 12 extra points. LB and Kid got 25 originally, but everyone else will get 37. Sorry.
KIDGAME
You shout out to the person, but hear nothing. Is the person dead? Or are they hiding? You can't tell. The answer will be upstairs, though you aren't sure you want to go up there.
Right now, you have other problems. 3 zombies heard your shouts, and are converging on your position from all directions.
Option 1: They're easy to dodge. Head for the stairs and rescue the person.
Option 2: Blast them all, then regroup. You don't want them following you. Remember, tell me which weapon you wish to use.
Option 3: Hide in the camping store.
BATTLMEISTER - Flamethrower - Acid Grenade - Flamethrower fuel - Knife - Green herb
The town was eerily quiet. But BM knew that could change suddenly, if he were to make a wrong move. As he was in the main town, he had multiple paths open to him in order to get to the helipad. Before he had left his home, he had heard on the emergency radio survivors were flocking to the RPD station, though that same station came under attack shortly after. There were weapons and trained police officers there...or maybe they were dead. Of course BM wanted to the helipad, but did he also want to help those in need along the way?
Option 1: Head to the station.
Option 2: Browse the shops for items.
Option 3: Try to find a car to steal.
Option 4: Head to the pad on foot.

Heh. Sorry I've been so long. I'll be posting more. Presently, in fact.
Option 1.
Ketsumi runs after Virginia, cursing as he does. Damnit! What the hell's going on? He looks over his shoulder. None of the zombies were following. Yet. Just in case, he pulls his 9mm out if it's holster. "Hey! Virg! Where're we goin', anyway?" "There's an exit out the back!" "Huh. 'That so..." Ketsumi looks back again, cringing at the carnage. Fuck...

LIFEBAKA/KETSUMI 9mm (45/45) SMG (40/40) Knife 11/15 space used.
Ketsumi whirled around to glimpse at the carnage, while Virginia ran on. There were still survivors trying to flee from the zombies, but they were being quickly swarmed and eaten. A middle aged man called to Ketsumi in desperation, but a split second after, Ketsumi heard a scream from outside. Who should he save?
Option 1: Follow Virginia and save her, if needed. No need to risk your own live to save a stranger's.
Option 2: Help the man, and escort him outside. He has only a few seconds before the zombies grab him, so be quick!

option 1.
The zombies had come out of the radio shack and slowly moved towards kid. He swiftly dodged them though and ran towards the stairs. He ran up the stairs as fast as he could. He got to the top and saw nothing. There were no zombies on the stairs. He walked out of the stairs and looked around. Over on the other side of the railing were some zombies but they couldn't get to kid.
"Those zombies on the other side must be the source of the moans I heard earlier" kid thought to himself.
He then proceeded to look around for the person that had screamed earlier. Was the man/woman alive? Kid began to search the area.
