Will they ever stop rising? Gas prices seem to be going higher and higher. What are the prices of gas near everyone? DB, your in canada right? How much is a gallon of gas over near you?
At the Exxon in my town I think its $2.60 for regular. I didn't actually look today since its right next to the store I work at. I think super is like $2.70 and premium is $2.80. I heard rumors that gas in the area was going to climb to around $3.00 a gallon and then hover there for a while. Some lady that works at my store today said its already OVER $3.00 in california.
I'm glad I don't live in california. Earlier in the year back in April when I went to california because I won the week trip there from school, Gas was like $2.65 for regular that was the cheapest. I saw a few places at $2.85 for regular. A few places were at or barely over $3.00 but that was premium.
While I was there we (me and my teacher) had rented a Ford Mustang Convertible. Well, the thing was nice but it must have had a small gas tank. I think we had to stop and get gas like 3 times. We were there for 1 week. We had to get gas 3 times. Ridiculous. They have some real gas guzzlers over there. Hopefully prices go down sometime.

It's exactly 103.9 Canadian cents over here, per litre.
In England, it's about 82 pence, which is very high, and about 1.2 euros in other European countries.
And 3 freakin' dollars? That ridiculous!

At work yesterday we were talking about gas prices. Some customer said what the price was in england. He didn't say how much in their money. He said that it was over $6.00 a gallon over in england ($6.00 in USD).
So DB, 103.9 per litre is that what it usually is? Or is canada also suffering from rising gas prices?

About three years ago, it was around 85 cents, so yeah, it's gone up a hell of a lot.

Three years ago, gas was around $1.00 in Atlanta. Now it's about $2.60. That's a 160% increase in three years. It's flipping crazy.

SmartCars in the US! Bloody sweet! I hope my parents get one. 60 miles per gallon. Same engine as a Vespa. I am soooo getting a Vespa when I can a) afford it, and b) drive it legally.

I wouldn't touch one of those up here.
Everyone drives an SUV, so I'd hate to have an accident in a tiny Smart Car.

I don't think people are worried about that. The waiting list is already 20,000 people long. For a $20,000 Smart Car.
I'm still going to go with a Vespa, when I'm legally an adult. It's luggage capacity is limited, sure, but it gets great gas milage, and it's cheap.

I'll stick with a nice used Chevy. Or something similar.

Hey, guess what? My parents were looking up the Smart Car yesterday, and we found out that there are two new versions of it. A four person Smart Car, and a Smart Roadster (convertable). I don't know the address, otherwise I'd post it, but the Roadster looks pretty sweet.

Do you know/can you ballpark the price?

For the four-seater, between $25,000 and $30,000. The Roadster will be around $40,000. And those two still get amazing gas milage.

Granted. Soon gas prices will be high enough to warrent it. In the USA, the average price rose 6 cents last week. At this rate, soon is going to be here before the end of the year.

6 cents? That's a pretty large increase.
I guess it would be a good buy, then.
In my case, I'd just limit my travel rather than going to such lengths. But that also has its downsides.

Well since that hurricane hit louisiana gas prices have had a big spike over here in NJ. Tuesday (before it happened) the Exxon in my town was like $2.60 i think. Wednesday it shot up to like $2.95 and today it was up to $3.03. So in my town it was a 43 cent increase so far. Its probably going to go up more. Other places it was even higher.
Over in bordentown at a Mobil we go to often because it is cheap. Well cheaper then the other gas stations. I think moday when we were there they were, believe it or not, $2.40 a gallon. Today when we were there they were up to a whopping $3.19 a gallon. In just 3 days that bordentown Mobil station got a .79 cent increase. Thats freaking insane. Having $2.40 was actually pretty nice since in town it was as i said $2.60 but we have to travel a bit to get to bordentown but gas was around 20 cents cheaper per gallon then other places. In 3 days having the 40 cent gas raise in town is bad but its not THAT BAD. I think a .79 cent change in just a day or two is nuts. Ridiculous. Insane. Crazy. It's probably not going to go down for a while now. Its going to keep going up and up.
If this keeps up then USA gas prices are gonna be the same as UK/Europe gas prices. In europe its already like $6.00 and more for a gallon. That is in our money after you convert their money system to US dollars. I heard that before December comes, in USA its going to be a minimum of $4.00 and way higher for a gallon of gas. Thats BS. Its freaking crazy. I think over in louisiana (or somewheres near there, Georgia maybe) I heard on the news today that its like $6.50 or something. Damn, glad I dont live down there. The hurricane comes, does lots of damage (and boy it definitely did damage) gas in that area spikes up to over $6 a gallon and gas raises everywheres else to over $3 a gallon. At this rate its gonna be $6. Hell, soon maybe it'll be $10 a gallon of gas. Itd better not be because that would be crazy. No one would afford that and if so well not a lot of people are going to be driving. That would be a good reason to start carpooling (actually, its a great reason to start carpooling now). Only those rich millionaires would still be out driving though they probably wouldn't appreciate $10 a gallon.

Speaking of Lousiana New Orleans is totally wrecked. Many don't want to even bother rebuilding it. It will be weird if no one rebuilds it, like a ghost town almost.
